This mosque forms part of the revered Ziarat Baba Hyder Reshi Shrine complex and is deeply significant to both spiritual seekers and the local community. Baba Hyder Reshi, also known as Harda Reshi or Reshi Maloo, was born in 1504 into a humble blacksmith family and became a highly venerated saint in Kashmir. Renouncing worldly possessions, he dedicated his life to service, humility, and compassion, attracting followers across generations. The mosque, situated in Mohalla Reshi Sahib, serves not only as a place for daily prayers and Jumu’ah congregations but also as a spiritual hub where devotees gather to honor the saint’s teachings and legacy. Many relics of Baba Hyder Reshi and his 21 disciples are preserved within the shrine, reflecting centuries of devotion and cultural heritage. Its location in a busy locality makes it accessible to both locals and pilgrims visiting Anantnag city, blending religious devotion with the rich historical and social fabric of the region.
