Born on July 5, 1917 (9 Safar 1355 Hijri), in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Abdul Khabir Hasan Shah Abbasi emerged from a lineage deeply rooted in Islamic scholarship and Sufi traditions. His father, Hazrat Hafiz Rahim Bakhsh, was a distinguished Hafiz and Qari, and his mother, Majeda Khatun, ensured his upbringing was steeped in religious and moral values. From an early age, Khwaja Khabir Hasan exhibited a keen interest in both religious and secular education. He pursued Islamic studies under his father's guidance and furthered his academic pursuits at Maharaja School, eventually earning an engineering degree from Agra University. In 1938, he married Jameela Khatun in Jaipur. His spiritual journey took a significant turn when he became a disciple of Hazrat Khwaja Muhammad Hasan Shah (R.A.), also known as Sultanul Auliya, during the Urs of Hazrat Saiyyadna Amir Abul Ula (R.A.) in Agra Sharif. In 1957, he received the Khilafat (spiritual succession) from his mentor, who entrusted him with the mission of locating the tomb of Hazrat Shah Najmuddin Qalandar (R.A.). Demonstrating unwavering dedication, Khwaja Khabir Hasan Shah Abbasi embarked on this spiritual quest, culminating in the discovery of the tomb in 1962, approximately 27 kilometers from Dhar Sharif. Following this achievement, he established the Khanqah Sharif, known as Mehfil E Sufiya Hasni Jahangiri Qalandari, behind Bhoj Hospital in Dhar Sharif in 1981. This hermitage became a sanctuary for spiritual seekers, fostering Sufi teachings and practices. The dargah complex is renowned for its serene ambiance, attracting devotees and visitors seeking spiritual enlightenment and solace. Annually, the Urs of Khwaja Khabir Hasan Shah Abbasi (R.A.) is commemorated on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of Jilhaz, drawing followers from various regions who gather to honor his legacy and partake in the spiritual gatherings. Khwaja Khabir Hasan Shah Abbasi (R.A.) departed from this world on August 14, 1988 (30 Jilhaz 1408 Hijri). His final resting place, adjacent to the Khanqah Sharif, continues to be a beacon of spiritual guidance, reflecting his lifelong commitment to the dissemination of Sufi wisdom and the service of humanity.
