Ibrahim Saiyed Shahid Masjid

Ibrahim Saiyed Shahid Masjid

This tomb is believed to be the final resting place of Ibrahim Saiyed Shahid.

The Ibrahim Saiyed Shahid Masjid is a remarkable example of trabeate-style architecture. In terms of design and size, it closely resembles the Shah Khub Masjid, showcasing similar architectural elements. Although the mosque is in a dilapidated condition, it remains repairable and retains much of its structural integrity. The minarets are solidly constructed, standing 32 feet high, and divided into three storeys. Despite the passage of time, these minarets are almost perfectly preserved. The panels and niches of the mosque are adorned with intricately carved foliage, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. The open fa?ade is supported by six nearly equidistant pillars, with two additional rows of six pillars each inside, giving the mosque a total interior length of 63 feet and a depth of 31 feet. The roof is covered by three rows of seven domes, creating a visually striking architectural feature. However, one of the roof beams has developed a crack, leading to the addition of brick and mortar supports as a temporary measure. The mosque's back wall features three qiblas made of sandstone, which have likely survived due to their robust construction, even though the inscription slab in the central mihrab?s tympanum has long since been removed. Originally, the back wall had four windows, one of which was located behind the minaret. Unfortunately, the latticework that once adorned these windows has disappeared. The end walls feature intricately carved balcony windows supported by brackets, adding to the architectural beauty of the structure. The roza, or mausoleum, associated with the mosque is relatively plain. Its dome rests on twelve pillars, but the pavement around it has been disturbed, and the tomb itself has been completely removed. To the northeast of the mosque, in an area where a faqir resides who claims ownership of the mosque?stands a brick tomb on a well-maintained platform.
