Haji Abdul Gani House is a traditional residential structure located in Budshah Mohalla, Batapora, forming part of the historic riverfront settlement of Sopore on the right bank of the River Jhelum. The house was originally constructed in the mid-20th century by Ghulam Mohi-u-din Shah, a local shopkeeper. The property is presently owned by his descendant Haji Abdul Gani, who is also a shopkeeper. Architecturally, the building represents vernacular Kashmiri residential architecture and is set within a private compound accessed through an entrance gateway (deedh). The three-storeyed structure follows a simple and repetitive plan, with rooms arranged on either side of a central corridor. A continuous wooden dub projects from the second floor, while the use of mud mortar, exposed wooden joists, sathrun mud flooring, and load-bearing brick walls reflects traditional construction practices. The upper floor is currently in a dilapidated condition, with partial roof damage.
