The Dargah Syed Shah Barkatullah Wasti Zaidi Marehravi, commonly known as the Khanqah-e-Barkatiya or Marehra Sharif Dargah, is a prominent Sufi shrine located in Marehra (also spelled Marehra), a town in Etah district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is the mausoleum of Hazrat Syed Shah Barkatullah Marehravi (d. 1729 CE), founder of the Barkaatiyya Sufi order, and uniquely houses the graves of seven successive Qutubs (spiritual poles) under one dome. Dedicated to Hazrat Syed Shah Barkatullah Ishqi Marehravi (born 1641 CE in Bilgram, died 1729 CE in Marehra), a descendant of Prophet Muhammad through Imam Zaid ibn Ali, this dargah is the spiritual epicenter of the Barkaatiyya silsila (order), blending elements of the Chishti and Qadri traditions. Shah Barkatullah, titled "Sahib-ul-Barkaat" (Master of Blessings), was a profound scholar, poet, and saint known for his works in Persian (Diwan-e-Ishqui), Braj Bhasha (Pem Prakaas), and his deep knowledge of Sanskrit texts. He established a khanqah (spiritual retreat) in Marehra, transforming the village into a hub of Sufi learning and devotion. After his passing on 10 Muharram 1142 AH (1729 CE), his tomb became a focal point of pilgrimage. The shrine's grand dome and four minarets were erected by Nawab Muhammad Khan Bangash, ruler of Farrukhabad, marking its architectural prominence. What makes this dargah extraordinary is that it shelters the resting places of seven prophesied Qutubs from the Barkati lineage under a single dome—a rare distinction in Sufi shrines. Successive saints, including his son Shah Aley Ahmad and later figures like Shah Abul Hussain Ahmad-e-Noori (Miyan Sahab), continued the legacy, emphasizing divine love, brotherhood, and spiritual enlightenment. Today, Marehra Sharif remains a vibrant center for Sunni Muslims, drawing thousands during the annual Urs festival. The site inspires educational and charitable institutions, such as the Al-Barkaat Society, reflecting the enduring influence of its founder.
