Mira Saiyed Ali Ki Masjid

Mira Saiyed Ali Ki Masjid

The mosque serves as a testament to the architectural and spiritual heritage of the region, though it is now under threat due to modern encroachments and neglect.

Mira Saiyed Ali ki Masjid, also known as Mira Chilla ki Masjid, is a historical mosque located in Dariyapur, Lunawada, Gujarat. Situated south of Jordan Road, the mosque is approximately 230 yards away from the Fath Masjid. Unlike some other heritage sites, this mosque boasts a distinct and well-preserved entrance, adding to its historical charm. Constructed with plain stone, the structure is relatively simple in design yet holds immense historical significance. The area in front of the mosque features several tombs, adding a serene and reverent atmosphere to the site. The mosque originally stood on a parcel of land measuring nearly a quarter of an acre. However, over time, parts of the land have been encroached upon, reflecting the challenges faced by many heritage sites in preserving their original boundaries. The site is closely associated with Mira Saiyed Ali, a revered figure who lived during the late fifteenth century. Historical records suggest that he passed away toward the end of the century and was buried in Unjha, located in northern Gujarat.
