The Musa Suhag Masjid and Dargah is a revered site located near the Shahibaug Flyover, within the graveyard area of Shahibaug, Ahmedabad.
Hazrat Musa Suhag R.A., a revered majzoob (a saintly figure absorbed in the love of Allah to the extent that worldly norms and senses hold no meaning to them), was an enigmatic personality whose origin and detailed history remain shrouded in mystery. Known for his unusual demeanor, he often adorned female attire, complete with bangles and ornaments, symbolizing his profound spiritual connection and detachment from societal conventions. Despite his peculiar appearance, he was widely respected for his miraculous abilities and deep spiritual insight. One of the most well-known incidents associated with him occurred during a severe drought that gripped the region, leaving the people desperate for relief. The king, along with the qazi (judge) and prominent Islamic scholars, approached Hazrat Musa Suhag R.A. to request his intercession through prayer for rainfall. Initially, he was hesitant and declined their plea, feeling unworthy of such a significant task. However, as pressure from the public mounted, he finally agreed to pray, moved by their genuine plight. In a remarkable display of faith and devotion, Hazrat Musa Suhag R.A. held a stone in one hand and gestured towards his bangles with the other. Raising his gaze to the heavens, he cried out with heartfelt emotion, ?Either send down rain or take your Suhag!? His words, uttered with pure sincerity and complete reliance on Allah, seemed to pierce the skies. Almost immediately, clouds gathered, and a torrential rain began to pour, bringing much-needed relief to the parched land. The incident further cemented his status as a beloved and divinely inspired figure, reminding all of the power of unwavering faith and Allah?s boundless mercy.
