Hazrat Imam Ali Naqi (Radi Allahu Anhu) is the 10th Imam, and Hazrat Saiyed Ali Mira Datar belongs to his noble family, specifically the Hussaini family. Interestingly, his birth and martyrdom occurred on the same day, the 29th of Ramzan, a moonlit night. He was born on Eid night, and every year on his birthday (Viladat), a grand celebration is held. On this day, the Gusal Ceremony takes place at the Mazar Sharif, where the shrine is washed with rosewater. Similarly, on the day of his martyrdom, there is a special gathering known as the Urs Mubarak at 4:00 AM, followed by the Sandal Mubarak ceremony, during which millions of devotees gather to seek fulfillment of their rightful needs. Additionally, the Loban (fragrance ceremony) is performed at 5:00 AM and again in the evening after Maghrib Namaz, drawing numerous devotees eager to partake in the spiritual atmosphere. His grandfather, Saiyed Ilmuddin, arrived from Bukhara, Uzbekistan, alongside his father, Muhammad Daurain (R.A.), to settle in Lukhnow, India. At that time, many learned preachers from Bukhara traveled to India to guide Muslims who were not following the righteous path. Saiyed Ilmuddin's uncle, Kutbe Alam, who was deeply committed to Islamic teachings, was sent by his family to Gujarat for preaching. After the death of his father, Saiyed Ilmuddin moved to Ahmedabad, where he met Kutbe Alam and was introduced to the king, Ahmed Shah. Impressed by his piety and leadership, the king appointed him as Commander in Chief of his army. Saiyed Ilmuddin led his soldiers on the path of righteousness, converting many into disciples who followed the teachings of Islam. Saiyed Ali Mira Datar's father, Saiyed Dost Muhammad, was a bold and brave man, skilled in swordsmanship, who had earned the favor of King Ahmed Shah. He was married to Aisha Bibi, known as Jannati Maa, a very pious woman from a family of Sufis and Auliyas. Their son, Hazrat Saiyed Ali Mira Datar, was born during the month of Ramzan in the Saiyedwada area of Ahmedabad, Kanpur. His face shone with spiritual light (Noor), signifying his divine birth. At the tender age of 3, his father was called upon by King Ahmed Shah to quell a rebellion near Patangaon. After successfully completing his task, Saiyed Dost Muhammad settled in Lilapur, where the family continued to live peacefully. Hazrat Saiyed Ali Mira Datar faced the loss of his mother, Jannati Maa, when he was just 10 months and 16 days old, passing away on Friday, 16th Rajab 880 Hijri. Following her passing, Hazrat Saiyed Ali Mira Datar was cared for by Daulat Bibi, also known as Dama Amma, and his grandmother, Dadi Amma. Under the guidance of his Dada Jaan (grandfather), Hazrat Saiyed Ali Mira Datar received his early education in Ahmedabad. He was deeply pious, dedicating much of his time to the worship of Allah Subhana Taala and the study of Hadith and Sunnah. His profound spiritual strength became evident as he solved people's problems effortlessly, and his prayers were swiftly answered. His eloquent speeches, driven by his love for Imam Husain (R.A.) and his desire to become a martyr (Shaheed), led many people to embrace Islam. Throughout his life, his actions and teachings remained rooted in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), reflecting his dedication to the divine path and the righteous cause.
