The Bhammariyo Well, located in Mehmadabad, Kheda district of Gujarat, is an ancient and historically significant structure. It was constructed in the 15th century by the Sultan Mehmudshah Begada, a ruler of the Gujarat Sultanate.

The structure is currently a three-story setup, with the upper two floors designated for living spaces. These rooms offer shelter and comfort, while the lower floor, which serves as the entryway to the well, is notably more utilitarian. Narrow stairs lead from this floor directly to the well, creating a functional connection between the living spaces and the water source below. The design of the stairs is particularly interesting, as there are four distinct staircases leading to the rooms, two of which are circular in shape. These circular stairs are a defining feature of the structure, contributing to its distinctive character and earning it the name ?Bhammariyo Well.? The name likely derives from the circular design of these stairs, enhancing the well?s historical and architectural significance.
