Jamia Masjid Roat is situated in the Roat Bari (upper side) area of Doda district, Jammu & Kashmir. The masjid falls within the rural–semi-rural belt near Thalanga and Roat localities and serves as an important congregational mosque for the surrounding population. At present, no authenticated historical records, foundation inscriptions, or official documentation are available in public sources regarding the year of establishment, founders, or architectural evolution of the masjid. Like many traditional mosques in the Chenab valley region, it is believed to have been established through collective community efforts to meet the religious needs of local residents. The masjid functions as a Jamia mosque, accommodating daily prayers, Friday Jumu‘ah, Eid congregations, and other religious activities, thereby playing a central role in the spiritual and social life of the Roat area.
