The Sankalwala Pir Saheb Dargah Sharif, located in Bhuj, Gujarat, is deeply intertwined with a fascinating historical tale that reflects the spiritual bond between Pir Abdullasha Saheb R.A and the royal family of Kachchh. The story begins with the first king of Kachchh, who, at that time, was facing the deep sorrow of not having any children. In his desperation, he sought the blessings of a revered divine figure. He prayed earnestly before a holy man from the Muslim community, known as Piran Pir, asking for a child. In response to his heartfelt plea, Piran Pir assured the king that a Pir would soon arrive in Bhuj and would bless him with a child. Miraculously, the king's wish was fulfilled, as he was blessed with a son. Grateful for the divine intervention, the king, in his joy, insisted that Pir Abdullasha, who had been foretold to bring this blessing, remain in Bhuj permanently. However, Pir Abdullasha, a man of profound spiritual discipline, expressed his desire for peace and respect rather than material rewards. Understanding his devotion, the king granted him a marked area where Pir Abdullasha could reside, a territory encircled by a chain, or Sankal, symbolizing his sanctity and the royal protection around him. This area where the Pir lived became known as Sankalwala Dargah, a place that is now a revered shrine for the followers of Sufism. The legacy of Pir Abdullasha Saheb continues to live on, with the 10th generation of his descendants maintaining the tradition of the spiritual throne. One of his descendants, the husband of Kulsumbibi, was recently buried at the site, further cementing the connection of the family to the Dargah. The Dargah stands as a powerful testament to faith, divine blessing, and the enduring influence of Pir Abdullasha, attracting pilgrims who seek blessings and spiritual solace from the revered saint.
