Jamia Masjid, Shopian is a historic Friday mosque located in Tak Mohalla, Shopian, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (PIN 192303). The mosque dates back to the Mughal period and is traditionally believed to have been commissioned during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, when Shopian lay along the historic Mughal Road through the Pir Panjal range. Because of its strategic location, the mosque served as an important religious and resting point for travelers and Mughal caravans. Over time, Jamia Masjid, Shopian became a central place of worship for the local Muslim population and is widely admired for its spiritual importance and architectural beauty. The structure was rebuilt in 1953 CE, using materials such as deodar wood, stone, and bricks, while retaining elements of Mughal architectural style. The mosque remains active today and is considered one of the most prominent and well-known mosques in Shopian district.
