Khan was instrumental in defending Agra against the rebel prince Shah Jahan in 1623, after which he was awarded the title Mumtaz Khan. His loyalty and military prowess were pivotal in safeguarding the Mughal empire during a time of political unrest. The mosque was built for Khwajah Kafur, a Sufi saint, reflecting Itibari Khan?s deep devotion and respect for spiritual figures.
