Community and Education: The mosque administration oversees a Madrasa that provides Quranic studies and moral instruction for local children. Traditional Architecture: The masjid features a clean, white facade with a prominent minaret that acts as a landmark for the Vilathikulam market area. The interior prayer hall is designed for natural ventilation, essential for the hot, dry climate of northern Thoothukudi. Strategic Transit Point: Because Vilathikulam is a major junction connecting Madurai, Tuticorin, and Kovilpatti, the mosque is a very frequent prayer stop for travellers and truck drivers moving along SH 75. Proximity to Religious Diversity: The mosque is located just a short distance from the historic Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, reflecting the town's long-standing tradition of religious coexistence and shared public spaces.
